UQ uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous data about how people find and use our websites.

You can use analytics data to measure usage of your website and make informed decisions about how to improve your content and site.

UQ's Google Analytics accounts are managed by the Customer Analytics team in Marketing and Communications. Each site has its own property and tracking ID, which are set up by CA and ITS when the site is created.

Accessing Google Analytics

Site owners or site coordinators can request access to Google Analytics.

To access analytics, you will need a Google account that uses your UQ staff email address. If you don't already have a Google account, you can create one.

Once you've set up your Google account, send an email to customer-analytics@uq.edu.au to request access to analytics. In your request, include the:

  • UQ email address you used for your Google account
  • address of sites you want analytics access for.

Using Google Analytics

If you want to learn more about using Google Analytics and understanding reports, you can access free online courses at the Google Analytics Academy.

Linking with Google Adwords

UQ's Google Adwords account is linked to our Google Analytics account.

The Google Adwords account is managed by Marketing and Communication (MC).

If you have questions about Google Adwords or online advertising, contact MC at marketing@uq.edu.au.
