Each taxonomy term has a URL just like a normal page. Usually the taxonomy term page lists content tagged against it.

How to find a taxonomy term URL

This functionality requires Site Coordinator permissions.

  1. In the admin menu, go to Structure > Taxonomy
  2. For the vocabulary containing the term you want, click 'List terms'.
  3. The name of each term links to its term page.

URL patterns

Custom vocabularies created on individual sites will generate urls using this pattern: /[vocabulary-name]/[term-name]

As with node urls, term urls strip out joining words like 'of', 'a', 'the', and replace spaces with hyphens when generated.

Global vocabulary URL patterns

The global vocabularies have the following defined patterns:

Event Type:
/event/type/[term-name]

Funding Source:
/funding-source/[term-name]

Organisation Topic:
/organisation/topic/[term-name]

Research Area:
/research/area/[term-name]

Staff Group:
/our-people/[term-name]

Student Support Topic:
/student-support/topic/term-name

E.g. for term “Information session” in the vocabulary “Event Type” on a site called “test.uq.edu.au”, you would enter “test.uq.edu.au/event/type/information-session”.

E.g. for term “Allocation and placement” in the vocabulary “Student Support Topic” on a site called “test.uq.edu.au”, you would enter: “test.uq.edu.au/student-support/topic/allocation-and-placement”.
