UQ styles and standards

Writing and editing for style ensures your work is up to the UQ standard and consistent with other UQ web content.  If you have an ongoing role in producing web content, then become fluent in UQ styles.  Content may be edited by Faculty or CMS Transition staff to make it conform.

The Office of Marketing and Communication has prepared a handy one-page cheat sheet (PDF, 321KB) for quick advice on the most common written style issues.

Visit the OMC website for the latest guidance and templates in relation to UQ branding.

UQ web content styles (PDF, 520KB) have been prepared by ITS to guide you in editing content for transition to UQ Drupal. These web styles help you develop content that is discoverable, accessible and low maintenance. You can also use them to guide you in repurposing print material for the web. To self-check your own web pages or quality assure someone else's, download the one-page quality assurance checklist (PDF, 332KB).
